I would like to put a shelf up over top of my pellet stove, Flame P-35, What is the clearance above the stove? Is there a set amount of space?

I'm thinking 18". I checked the installation and owners manual and there is nothing listed at all.

Would I be better off to call SBI, the manufacturer, and ask them?

Thanks much!!

Twojrts,

The manual does not give mantle clearances for the stove if installed as a freestanding unit, but the section dealing with installing the stove as an insert says to allow 10 1/2" from the top of the stove to a mantle made of combustable material. Obviously, 18" would be better.

Remember, we all appreciate pictures when the install is complete.

Good luck.

Regards,

Ranger

Thanks, Ranger!

Now all I need to do is learn to re-size the pics so I can post them!
