When felling in the woods, I leave anything crooked and/or small behind. No sense wasting the time to drag it out. If it fell in my yard and it's over 2", it usually goes in the wood stacks. No sense wasting time to drag it into the woods.

Anything larger than my wrist gets split at least once. Rounds make poor kindling, no matter how small
