Some have yet to figure out that even if the damper is closed or the draft fan is off, the wood is still "burning", just not putting out much heat.


I was kind of thinking, If you don't have time to load a boiler once or twice a day, how are you going to find time to cut wood. Especially for a 135 cu ft firebox OWB.

How friendly your system operates depends a lot on the operator !
Our home was rented out for about 20 years and the rental included use of the wood system .
Three sets of tenants were white collar types and had no previous experience with wood only heat , they read the manual and had no problems .Two sets had previous experience or so they said , and could care less about reading a manual , there stays were short lived !
