Could be motor windings heating up and expanding with a resulting loss of continuity. A new motor will fix this issue.
Assume you don't have any flashing codes when fire dies out. I've come across St Croix stoves with loose set screws on the auger collar before. Control panel auger light comes on and off but auger didn't turn. Found set screw wasnt locked on the flat section of the auger shaft and just slipped.
Could also be a FET overheating and shutting off power but motor will not fix this issue. This would need a need FET which isn't hard to fix. Good luck.
