We are wondering if we use doublewall supervent inside, into the proper thimble- how does the thimble connect to the supervent stainless outside (as in the T, any length of pipe etc) or.. is it best to just stick with the double wall all the way out and up? thoughts anyone?

Think of the thimble as a protective sleeve. There will be a short stub of chimney pipe off the Tee that inserts through the thimble.

The interior thimble trim will be black.

Thanks for the help. It's a good adventure and we want to do it right. Your opinion on one more thing if you will... do you feel the supervent black double wall is suitable for all the outside pipe as well- just do it all in black pipe?

If you mean black, double-wall connecting stove pipe, no. Double-wall vent (interior flue connector) is a very different pipe than exterior chimney pipe. Supervent class A stainless must be used for the chimney, tee and tee extension through the wall thimble.

Their planning guide should be helpful too. I have attached it here.
