I'm not sure if this is the right spot for this, but none of the other areas really jumped out as a home for this. It's a neat idea, but he has to fiddle with it alot.

What you do is cut the cross with a chainsaw leaving the bottom attached, light it, and enjoy.
 
Here is mine... Not hard at all. Needs some time to season to burn well, but once lit, it burns for about 2 hours (give or take, based on wood, species, and size).

I usually make a few for use when I host my Camp Jakeawana event in the Fall.

You should see my brochures I made up . . . my dentist thought I was actually running a campground after looking through the brochure.
