   An interesting side of this technology is that there is nothing from stopping it from being built vertically to work in land based situations that don't have a nearby sea.

   theres an article in the latest Popular Mechanics about an algae facility in New Mexico making crude from algae with a projected cost of ~$85/bbl....not too shabby, and they haven't gone verticle yet....just open ponds...some serious potential for scaling up IMO. good times.
