No, there's some tie offs that I can hook to. Plus that 'nice truck' is my salvage title rebuild wonder. Helps not to be afraid of dinging up something brand new...
With all the beetle kill around here they'll give you permits for $5 a cord for all you want.
Danno77 said:is that an F150? doesn't look like it's even sagging from that load at all. do you have something installed to help it sit better (timbrens, or something)???
nice try, buddy, you don't get off that easy! I need more information, lol. what does beefier mean? beefier than other F150s? are you saying that Fords springs are better than another brands? are these aftermarket? C'mon, spill the beans.mhambi said:Yeah, it's an f150. It has beefier springs in the back...

I wouldn't be such a pain about it, but I need to get something on my truck and have pretty much settled on Timbrens, but I am still looking at options.mhambi said:I didn't make the improvements... they happened before the truck was mine. Nothing fancy. It has additional leaf springs (supersprings, I think... I'll have to dig up the paper work he gave me when I bought it) to up the hauling capacity.

IIRC They don't make sumo's for my truck, i looked that one up a couple of weeks ago.mayhem said:Look up Sumo Springs. Same benfits as timbrens, but without the potential harsher ride. Alot of plow guys use Timbrens and some are converting over to Sumos.

Being a cheap skate here....would springs out of a 2500 or even 3500 work in your 1500? There should be a ton of those in wrecking yards for cheap. I used to swap them out all the time in the older style "boxy" Dodges.
