The latest safety gear.

This took a while to get from Stihl. Christmas present and necessity in the woods I work in. On my way out to cut some wood now.

This is a Stihl Promark safety helmet with head/ear/face protection. Used it today while felling/cutting. I like it, comfortable and good sound protection.

used one of those back when i worked at the tree service company. they are nice

Added the Husky version to my gear this fall. Heard of some really nasty incidents following Sandy that made me realize it's not worth the gamble.

Yup. I really like it. I cut about, oh one cord yesterday with it and got it home into the yard. I will still be keeping my eyes open in these woods though. The trees are close together and there are a lot of dead ones in certain areas of the woods because of them being so close together and/or bugs. The helmet can really protect your head, but if a heavy tree top comes down and tags you it won't stop it from hurting your neck/back/shoulder/etc seriously. Or killing you of course. Always have to be thinking.
