Hello all - I'm hoping to get some ideas from those more competent than I, so Im able to remedy the issue described below. Thoughts and personal experiences greatly appreciated !
With the front of the stove/ insert aligned flush with the stonework, approx 3" of the stoves 6" flue collar aligns under the lintel with a tight 3.00" gap in between.
To remedy this, I recessed the stove into the fireplace opening back by approx. 3", thereby providing the flue collar clearance from the lintel, but also losing the flush fit to the stonework and thus not allowing me to use the surround panels of the insert.
So, Im looking for a solution with the goal of being able to fix this install and be able to use the surround panel with the insert. How to clear the lintel ? Is there enough room to install and possibly use an offset box or other means ?
Thoughts ?
THANKS !!
