I have a Tiara 1 that was converted to propane. It has a standing pilot, which wastes a lot of gas. Is there a way to convert the standing pilot on a converted stove to an IP?

It can be done for about $500 in parts plus labor. Your pilot burns about 800 BTU/HR, which works out to 1 gallon of LP every 4-3/4 days. That’s not a significant amount of LP. Plus, the pilot will keep the firebox relatively warm & will eliminate condensation in there. Your call.

Yeah, not sure it's worth that.

The pilot is still adding heat to the room, which will delay the next call for heat slightly, so it's probably not as much of a "waste" as you think during heat season. Definitely turn it off in the summer though.
