Timberline liner connection issue

Planning on installing a liner and a timberline insert. How exactly do I attach the liner to this lip (pictured). It only protrudes about 1/4 inch.

Angle brackets screwed to the appliance adapter and drilled and tapped into the top of the stove

Im assuming I have to install an adapter inside but it will be tricky with the damper there.

You have to notch around it
