Tin Foil Safe on Stove?

Pretty simple question. Is aluminum foil touching stove top safe? Any fire hazard here? I rigged up a vent to shuttle the blown hot air coming out of the stove vent, up to the register on the basement ceiling to the floor above.

aluminum foil or tin foil if you like really does not burn
If you get it hot enough it turns into a kind of ash
no flame just a light fluffy ash that falls apart when you touch it
But only when exposed to very high temp 660 degrees Celsius
1,220 degrees Fahrenheit melting point
 
Hopefully that's just temporary . I'd say should be ok short term
 
Yeah temporary. Going to pick up an inlet connection
 
If you don't think aluminum will burn you had better think again. I had an open fire going on the ground that was throwing some sparks so I tossed a small piece of corrugated aluminum roofing on it to hold down the sparks. In less than 5 minutes that aluminum was producing some bright strange colored flames and a couple of minutes later it was gone.
