Any ideas? It's the centerpiece of my daughter's back yard.

Horsechestnut if it has white flowers. If it has yellow flowers maybe Yellow Buckeye. I think horsechestnut...but the bark looks like buckeye.

Just looked up horse chestnut. Looks like an exact match. Thanks.

Very low on the BTU charts...;)

Very popular for a Christmas song.

When Jack Frost is nipping at your nose.

The reference in the Christmas song is to American Chestnut not Horse Chestnut.

Just wait for it to drop those fruits.... Prickly little fuc^3rs, dont even pick them up with thick leather gloves.....

Tried roasting them, as a kid, before the trees all died. We were around six, about four of us. Went to the park, lit a nice fire in one of the grills, and tossed about a gallon bucket of them on. About five minutes in, they all started to explode. Six year olds don't know that you're supposed to take the shells off first. At least we didn't. We panicked and tried to get them all off. Burned the crap out of ourselves.

Ah, the memories.
