Hi all, newbie here. I am able to get a used Cumberland Gap for $350. It's not enamel and I'm not sure of age yet (I see they started production in 2004). What should I be looking out for? Assuming it checks out, good deal?

I haven't heard about this stove for a while. It's a good looker and the predecessor to the Quad Explorer. This is a castiron jacketed stove. Inside it is a conventional steel stove with a side load door. Look for any interior cracks, or signs of over-firing (sagging tubes, greying paint), and the condition of the baffle board. Also, look at the condition of the firebrick. If it is in good shape and the price is right, it's a nice stove.

Thanks. I ended up picking it up. It has a build date of January 2004 and appears in good shape other than the baffle board and blanket appear old. Some of the bricks are cracked and displaced but that appears to be a common issue with pumice. It's going in a storage container until my addition where it's going gets finished. I'll post some updates as we move along...
