Hey Mike- correction on that Napa part #- 28424. It was early. -Wes
 
i just posted a thread (i plugged the holes) reference what appears to be 2 factory designed holes in the bottom of my encore 2550 that lead into the ash pan area. After I plugged the holes I get more controlled burns, no runaway temps.
I can't think of any reason why this would be detrimental in any way.
I dont know if the 1450 has these same holes but if it does you may want to try plugging them.
Another question is I know my primary air door in the back of the stove doesnt close all the way. I understand this is also by design. Does anyone see a problem with putting aliminium tape over a portion of that doorway to reduce the air intake further?
