When I heard this I was thinking the opposite. Placing the blower into the intake of the vent pipe via the stove but doing it via suction on the oustide would probably be easier and cleaner for the living room.
I have been checking my vent pipe by looking into the output port of the stove into the elbow that is behind my stove and it looks clean.
I might try it one day though.
