Feeling the Heat
My parents have a Whitfield and every year they have to replace the back firebox fiberglass wall. It's always breaking on them. Is this normal or are they doing something wrong?

I have a 1997whitfield and have just replaced the firebrick for the first time last summer.

If they are using aftermaret brick most of those are made from Vermiculite which tends to get very fragile. The original Cerraboard panels were a bit more durable but still didn't like rough handling very well. If it is breacking on him during install/removal then yes, first bet is taking it too rough on the brick.
