Yes I got it up and running, it was completely clogged behind the fire brick. I couldn;t get the firebrick in the center to come out the ones on the side where easy. I ran a bag of pellets through it on 1 and let it go until it was out of pellets and shut down, no back up. How do I adjust the damper? I thought the damper was adjusted by the handle on the side?
I had the same issues as you. My stove is a 1988 Advantage II. I had to be and remove the center brick panel on mine as there was another smaller plate hiding the chamber the dampener slider gate (move gate to the left so you can clean behind it). You got to get in there with a vacuum cleaner and get all the ash, then you'll have a good running stove. Maybe someone can answer a question I have. Apparently the Advantage series had the roman numeral "II" and also the number "2". Is one or the other a older model? bjr
