We are making a homemade wood boiler.
Just about done, but a friend mentioned that the door
should have some sort of heat shield?????
I did some searching on the net and some manufacturers
even run water threw the doors.
Just wondering if any of you have made your own boiler, or
have a any thoughts or idea's.
Thanks

A heat shield helps keep the door from warping so you can maintain a good seal. Water in the door is overkill. Just having another layer of steel with a small air space to shield the door from radiant heat is plenty.
