I was cutting and splitting some wood that a neighbor cleared for a pond and ran across this piece I haven't seen before. Everything else has been ash, walnut and oak but this yellowish color is something different. Thanks! yellow wood.jpgyellow wood bark.jpgyellow wood.jpgyellow wood bark.jpg
 
I wonder if it is Balck Locust. Both the bark and the wood color look not-quite-right for Black Locust, but I can't think of anything else that it would be.
