Im about to buy a wood stove and Im trying to choose between a Englander (from Home Depot) or a Lopi Republic 1250. Any opinions are welcome. Do not want to buy the cheaper one and regret it later. Area is about 800 sq. ft. Thanks

In my opinion, buyers remorse is a horrible thing.

If you go for the Lopi, you will have a chubby golden retriever puppy eating your socks.... One more reason for half of a pair of socks to disappear. And I can tell you from experience, I have one laying on my feet now, golden retrievers don't stay that small.

Englanders are good stoves, I'm sure Lopis are too. Pick the one that makes you happiest.

I have owned both; finances aside I would buy the Lopi if at all possible. The Englander isn't a bad stove, but the Lopi in my opinion is a great stove. That said if money is tight the Englander isn't a bad buy at all.
