Hello! New to the forum.
Does a Blaze King need to be completely air tight between the fire and bypass chambers? Thanks I’m reworking an older princess any pointers would be great! Thanks
Hi, make sure the by-pass plate, combuster box chamber are not warped ( caused by running on high to long). There is a gasket on the by-pass plate/door and obviously the loading door (Yes stove should be airtight).

Hopefully your thermostat rotates freely no binding etc. (my new stove was binding) and get a new thermometer for the combustor, very important.

I have a 2019 Sirocco 20.2 and right from the start my thermostat was malfunctioning took me a while to finally figure out, but BK sent me a new one (No instructions), but works way better now. I have gotten 25 hour burn on pallet wood on low, when its 10C or less out (which it is here for 10.5 months of the year), when its -10C, I get about 14 hour burn.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. A new stove would be nice! Hope you’re enjoying it.
Blaze King has been great to deal with, even though I’m calling with random questions on an old stove. Doesn’t matter who picks up they’re all knowledgeable. My latest call about if they’ve ever used any asbestos in manufacturing was a confident no. I’m certainly developing some brand loyalty.
I don’t have any noticeable warping just a some spots where the top plates have small thin gaps. Easy weld job, well at least for the local fab shop.
I’m doing both blowers, fire brick, complete clean and paint, handles, porcelain delete, cat thermostat, and both door seals
I’m trying to decide if the automatic bypass door closing rig is worth getting rid of. It wouldn’t bother me to close it manually and I’m questioning if it would be reliable on a 35 yr old stove. It works on a push rod system with door and it would be simpler without it to reseal and adjust the door

Wow, they came with auto-bypass closer, BK dumped that, mine is all manual.

I thought about a battery operated thermostat control, so when the load burns down, it automatically adjust the air/thermostat to keep the temp up, that would be the dream!

Take care,

auto by pass shutter upper? never heard of it. Ashful or High beam will know
