I just have to say that getting a wood stove is one of the best things I have done for my house and family. My wife was skeptical but stood by me when I installed the free standing stove in our all-electric house. We cut the wood, let it season, learned the quirks of our stove, and now here we are in season 3 and we just love it. We burn most nights and weekends. Everyone loves the fire. Nothing like the heat from wood. Love it!

It's all worth it in the end.

Such a great heat source and it uses renewable energy.....

The first year is the only bad one. That's when everyone shows up here saying, "What is wrong with my stove??". (They get told "Wet wood.", and then a page later in the thread, "OMG, who installed that? Get rid of those elbows and put an insulated liner in the chimney.")

They are great investments indeed, especially when you enjoy the work that goes into processing wood yourself.

You're not burning 24/7 yet?
