I have a 025 stihl that starts well ,runs good for about two minutes then sounds like it's starving for gas and dies.I've replaced the gas line and filter but it still does it.Carb adjusting doesn't seek to help any either.Whats next,carb rebuild?Crankshaft seals? HELP!

Check spark screen on muffler and be sure it's clean. Air filter clean? Good plug? Gas tank venting well? Try cracking the gas cap when it dies and see if there is vacuum in the tank and if the saw starts right away after you vent the tank. Check that carb is bolted tight. Sounds like you cleaned the carb and made sure all jets are clean, but may need rebuild - hard to know. Impulse line and intake boot also good to check - any cracks and you can have problems. These are some simple things (boot and intake take some doing) to check before thinking about hitting the crank seals and more intensive work. Does the saw idle well? Cheers!
P.S. - have you checked compression and shape of piston just to be sure the engine is in good condition?
Thanks guys for the info.I took one of the set screws out of the gas line which didn't help any.It has good compression,piston looks good from what one can see through the port.I didn't notice any defects with the boot but didn't really look it over real good.It idles well for quite a while and will run wide open for a short time then starts to starve for gas.Also if you crack the throtle open fast a lot of the time it'll die and will only start with half choke.
If fuel line and filter are good, sounds like carb rebuild and/or another cleaning may be in order - sounds like a jet may not be clean and/or weak diaphragms in the carb may be adding to the problem. I'm trying to remember on my 025 (used to own a couple) whether carb has both high and low adjustments as well as idle. If you have all three on that carb, try turning out the L screw and 1/4 to 1/2 turn and see if that helps the throttle response. I assume your gas mix is fresh? If you decide to rebuild and reclean the carb, I'd look closely at the intake boot and impulse line while the saw is apart - they can be a pain to replace (tight area to work), but small cracks cause big problems. Sounds like an air leak or Carb like he said. Also he mentioned the vent. I also think u could have a venting issue causing it not to be able to pull fuel in.

As to your quandary I also have an 025.My local dealer had a new fully adjustable carburetor for under $20.Put it on and it runs great.From the sounds of it the diaphragm is week and not supplying enough gas causing your problem, Ken
