2 High Temp Trigger Points for Auber AT200 Alarm

I have an Auber AT200 digital thermometer on my insert. I’ve been very happy with it. I have it set to go off at a point that’s high enough not to be a nuisance alarm where I can still get control of the fire by shutting the air down. I’d like to set a second high temp trigger point in case the temp continues to rise after disabling first set point.

I can’t figure out how to make the second alarm trigger. Here’s what I did to test it out before resetting it to my true targets.

AH1: 300
AL1: 0

AH2: 330
AL2:0

During startup it triggered at the 300 point. I hit the -> to quiet the alarm. But when it hit 330 nothing happened.

Any ideas how to set it to make it work?

I have the same problem with the AT100 never figured it out. So I just set my alarm for the the highest temp I want to see for my cat.

I just ordered the at200. It should be here Monday. It has an optional 2nd buzzer maybe you need that for alarm 2 to work?

I’m thinking that the second alarm is just for a low limit to keep the temp from getting too high or too low. That would be good for cooking but not good for running a stove. I don’t need my alarm going off at 4:00 am because my overnight burn is running out....

I have mine set up this way too but never noticed as I haven’t ever reache AH2. It does kind of make since that it wouldn’t trigger second high temp alam. If you hadn’t hit the silent button the alarm would still be going off when the stove temp reaches AH2. Maybe they called appalled it the silent button and not a reset button for a reason. I will play around with mine some report back if I find anything.

Auber's tech support is very good, IME. Contacting them would be a great way to solve this.

My solution was to get a second alarm. I have one measuring the stove top and another measuring the flue collar. The flu collar is connected to the new one. In addition to an alarm it turns the fan on / off based on the temperature.

Is it another Auber themo or another brand? I would like a digital thermo capable of running two probes. One for cat and one for pipe. Each probe being capable of having its own alarm.

Both of mine are Auber. If you are handy enough you can build your own system a la carte. The Auber customer service was good in responding to my questions before I decided what to get.

I went with a prebuilt PID controller. It is a little more than I need since it’s main design is for controlling a heater for cooking. I use it in cooling mode (the fan is trying to bring down the temp of the stove). But I could also use it to measure room temp and increase the fan when it’s cool. Or I could use it to make a nice strawberry yogurt.
