Hard to break a pattern. We're ready. 150 bushels of corn and 2 1/2 tons of pellets and all stoves cleaned and ready. Trying to find a little 2 hole cook stove for the not well built garage. Couple cycles to fix and a cedar strip canoe to finish.

Well Up North we started splitting 1yr old SugarMaple (cutlast yr ) and in April was split and has been drying all summer . Getting ready to Stack it in the wood shed . for the winter I have around 12 face cord of sugar ,, and another 7 face cord of silver maple for the Fall and spring burns . saving the Sugar for the cold days in January , February. Last yr I burnt 10 cords .. was a hard winter up this way .. And Now getting ready to redo the roof with R31 ..should keep me warm . When it hits Minus 30- its Dam cold .. stay warm guys and start stacking . winter is on its way

Don't buy the Farmer's Almanac BS. If it turns out to be correct, it will be dumb luck. No scientific base whatsoever. Flip a coin, it's just as reliable.

Last year was one of the Hottest on record all over the US.
ended up being coldest winter on the East coast in 20 yrs.[no connection]
Now people are saying we will have extreme cold winter due to a cooler summer..
Don't think Summer has anything to do with how winter will turn out..
doesn't matter anyway... I'll have 4 tons of Pellets in my basement ready to do battle.>>
