Good Day, I noticed a decline in performance when activating my CAT recently. I did an inspection and both CAT's had ash build up on them. I cleaned them from both the front and back access. Why I was in there, I did the flue as well. My question is when shutting the stove down at the end of the day, is it better to open the CAT bypass and let the firebox cool, or is it better to just leave the CAT operating and the firebox die down naturally? I have been leaving the CAT engaged, and intake open as the stove would go out over night. Is this the reason the ash covered the CAT's? The manual says to clean 2 or 3 times a burn season. This could also just be natural build up. Thoughts?
