Saturday was beautiful! Short sleeve weather, swam the dog for a couple hours… today was absolutely miserable! Low 40s and rain!
I'll give you one guess as to which of these days I was scheduled to stand on the side of a soccer field for two hours.

At least I got nearly a cord of wood split on Saturday, between harvesting walnuts and mowing. Good day to be outside, minus the sweat and the yellowjackets in their frantic fall mood.

If it was my luck, I’d be standing in the rain, lol. Hope you, and your kid, didn’t catch a cold!

Ugh. Hope this turns out to be a minor event. I will take snow, but do not like ice storms. They are damaging and dangerous.

This is what NOAA is saying. I'm glad our working days and hitting the roads early in the morning are done, I was in a ice & snow storm that made a 45 minute drive a two hour drive.

Some roads were closed down because of oil and propane trucks off the road in the ditch, I was very glad when I finally made it home.

NOAA,

A wintry mix including snow, sleet, and freezing rain is expected to
move through the region early Thursday morning through midday, which
may cause a slippery morning commute.

Looks like some possible lake effect coming in, if it happens, hopefully it doesn't shift north.

I’m not even scheduled to get rain. That’s ok though. I’ll get snow eventually.
I was watching our local news out of Watertown NY, tonight the forecast for around Thanksgiving went from Lake Effect down to Lake snow, maybe 3 inches for that area.

I'm sure that will change a few times before everyone hits the road.

It's 31 degrees tonight with rain and some thunder moving through, I would think the bridges would be getting slick pretty soon.

I last went outside around 2 hours ago. There was almost 2” of sleet at that time. It’s not going to get better before I wake up, lol.

About 6 it was starting. I picked the kid up from practice after school. Roads were still good, sidewalks were getting slick.

Lake effect doesn’t reach this far very often. It might get messy up in your area though. It’ll probably melt away. I don’t see it sticking until late December.

We’ll get them before that, but the ground is too warm for it to stick.

It looks like some areas east of Lake Ontario will get a good dumping of the white stuff.
