I had my last oil delivery sometime in early December and got about 65 gallons, but that was the first fill of the year and I tend to burn a lot of oil during the winter-spring shoulder season when I get tired lighting (and lighting, and lighting, and lighting ;lol) small fires just for the night and early morning hours. I was on my way into work when my wife called saying "Guess who's here!" and that she would text me the amount of the bill when the delivery guy left it. 25 gallons was the best I had done about three years ago when I was burning my way through a massive score of black walnut and pin oak. I'm feeling pretty good as we're almost through the coldest part of this winter and I have a full oil tank and three cords ready to go for next year in the back yard >>

You would think the oil company would do something to avoid making deliveries that small. They are throwing money away

Good for you, man!

My last LP delivery was 97 gallons an that included some of December's usage, before I had the stove running. We use the boiler for our domestic hot water as well as baseboard heat and there's a small Modine I had added to the basement because I wanted some freeze protection down there after we pulled the old oil burner out. That has run a fair amount this winter, but next winter will be a different story after the basement walls have been covered in spray foam insulation.

My oil comany doesn't have me on auto delivery. I call for 100 gallons at a time. Once a year. Every time I call they say the removed me as a customer.

We're on auto-fill and in this weather, the delivery truck is in our neighborhood pretty much every day, so trust me they're making money off of someone.

Not sure where exactly you're at in NJ-I'm in NW Hunterdon. We have used Van Doren oil for seven years now. Small family owned company with very good people. I get the same level of service from them as someone who buys 1000 gallons a year.

my oil company has a 100 gallon min......if they put in 60 gallons you pay for 100 and have an account credit

I'm in Bedminster, Somerset Cty. I see Van Doren trucks all the time. I use Skylands.
