25 PDVC auger motor on ebay

I cleaned the stove last weekend and switch auger motor around. This morning the upper motor when out. I've bought replacement on ebay 2 weeks ago for spares it came in handy. It was a great deal $70.00 each and it's exactly the same brand as the OE at almost half the price.

I just want to pass the word around I'm sure most of you already made the purchased the seller sold over 1K units.

I bought this unit used ran it for 3 weeks now, the previous only never had to replace any parts. For the money I think it's a great product. 2004 model it has 1 bad vacuum switch and an auger motor.

I only hear bad thing about Englander or I'm just being reasonably.

As much as I like my 25pdvc I wouldn`t buy the same (OEM)auger motors (intermittent duty) that they use, at least for the bottom auger. I`d want one that is rated for continuous duty.

Hello

Don't forget to clean the black carbon off the augers with a wire wheel on your drill/driver and clean the auger tubes, then spray them down with the high temp "Dry Moly Spray" This takes a big load off the auger motors!

continuios duty motors need to be thermally protected....e.g. have a fan mount to cool the coil and there is not enough room for that with the rear panel in place. older models had more room and actually had the fan, I run into many with the OEM motor still running 13 years later.

More then likely using the continuous duty motor in an intermittent application would not necessitate a fan as it would not build heat. IMHO...also if there was some way to install a fan I would as all motors kinda need a fan...again IMHO

You may be right Scott. My Harman auger has a small fan on the rear of the shaft. On my PDVC there isn`t room for a fan.
For my PDVC I would still try to buy a better one than Englander provides. I think it`s a weak link in the stove, at least in the lower auger.

Englander needs to change their burn pot or the relationship to the pellet drop and burn area

X2, I worked on a 25-PFS with the original auger motor with propeller still working!

I believe this auger is the same as what the OP purchased, not OEM, at least not on the stove my granddaughter has. I purchased one from this person, notice that it is a Gleason- Avery ball bearing motor, not a bushing motor.

Good Info. From what I have read the auger motors eventually go, just the way it is. You can also rotate the upper and lower auger motor to get additional life out of them. Pretty easy too, two bolts.

I did spray dry molly lube both upper and lower auger.

I've also replaced the combustion motor. The old motor has transformer that look like the auger motor. The new motor is enclosed, I touched the end of the housing it's very hot. I wrapped the motor housing with aluminum tape, it helps reflect the heat away. Hopefully it extend the life of the motor.
