Anyone have any tips on keeping the ash off the front door just below the glass?

Sorry no one got back to you - Welcome to the forum! Hopefully those that got sidetracked by the Super Bowl will see this and chime in...

I do, but its not a "legal modification" the airwash system in the unit is not adequate to keep the glass clean (we went with cleaner overall burn over strong airwash and a lesser burn. if one were to extend the airwash bar out so that it would come in contact with the glass it would keep the ash off the cavity below the glass. you wouldn't be losing much anyway with that airwash not working as it doesn't do very well to start with.

I know how to make the glass stay clean longer as well but alas , its not legal as you would have to use "house air" for the airwash which is no longer allowed in new designs.

what you can do to capture the ash as you open the door is to simply slide out the ash pan about 2 inches before you open the door and most all of that ash will end up in the pan
