I just completed the install this evening, I still have some tinkering to do. I have a bit of a lazy flame at the moment and I am not sure what I am doing. I have the OAK installed & 4 inch Selkirk venting. On startup with the burn pot half full I had a nice large flame. Now, the flame is not that large.

Can anyone help?

What settings are you running the stove at?

I'm not sure where I would find those? Factory settings is the best I can make out right now

I don't have the instructions right in front of me but I believe that all you have to do is press each of the three lower buttons in turn and record what shows up in the leds ... That will tell us the settings of each. Then we won't be assuming.

Also when you installed the stove did you give it a good gasket test just to be certain that the hopper and door gaskets were fine?

Yes.

Yes, the dollar bill test. Is this a new stove or used? Are you running it with a thermostat or manually?

The startup process on most stoves involves dumping more fuel into the pot than the firing rate would otherwise use this allows the stove to be brought up to temperature faster and most deposits of crud caused by shutdown to be burned off. The flame is frequently the largest it will be just at the point the stove starts to do a normal feed cycle then the flame reduces and the amount of pellets in the burn pot is less.

You might also want to check the jumper location on the control board it should have a jumper if the stove is in manual mode.

Have you checked to make sure there is a jumper wire across the stat terminals on the control board? If not, the stove will only run on the low heat setting.

Will do. I am assuming that they come with jumpers installed and I would remove it if and when I I get the wall or portable thermostat

Normally they come with a jumper but your stove is not new, it was used.

Nope they don't work that way, but you need to do a full checkout of the stove anyway never trust what you can easily verify.

There will be some fluctuation in the flame height, but the photo looks more like the flame height one 1 to me.

That's what I was thinking. With heat range and blower on 8 the flame height is barely above the burn pot

Have you checked for that jumper yet?

If jumper is installed correctly on control board, you could try increasing the fuel feed some. My 10-cpm is also factory set to 1-4-1 to start with, and will burn good pellets just fine on those, but when I use cheaper "shoulder" season pellets, I have to jack the settings up some.

With the poor CleanFire (NEWP) pellets I have for shoulder season, I have to run the stove at 3-5-1, or 4-5-1 to get any decent heat out of them.

If you want to change settings, just push the one you want to change, then press either both "up" or both "down" arrows at the same time to make changes. Allow the display to go out, and then re-start the stove.

I run mine usually on 4-4-1 depending on the pellet....also, make sure your ashpan has a good seal on it....sometimes it can get cocked if it's not seated correctly...

Thank you all so much for your replies. I have not looked at the jumper yet. I just ran out of the house for 45 mins and the stove went into shut down mode. I didn't see any error codes but I can only imagine there was no fire as the burn pot is half full again with none of the pellets burnt. I am going to eat real quick and open the right side (facing the stove) to check for the jumper - I will also check the gaskets.
