You guys with the 5660 US pellet stoves how high does your flame get?is it so high that it touches the heat exchangers or not?just wondering what other 5660 burn like mine since day one has hallways had a high flame no matter how much you adjust the air intake.

Heat setting one --- Never gets that high
Heat setting two --- Never gets that high
Heat setting three --- Can get that high sometimes, depends on the pellets that I put in it.
Heat setting four --- Gets that high, kisses the lower tubes
Heat setting five --- Kisses all the heat tubes -- Kicks out some heat too !

And the damper is set at 1 third open for all heat settings, burns pellets up too fast if opened more than this.
Flame is bright yellow / white with a blue base. The blue part of the flame is less that 1 quarter of an inch in height. No black tips at the top of the flame and no black smoke.

Inside of stove is white and not black.

Hope that this helps you.

My damper is wide open. My flame has at times hit the top rolled over foward and licked the glass. Not long though. It has something to do with pellet size and feed rate that cant be adjusted on the new 5660

I've not seen that here with mine yet with the flame licking the glass.

Yes, the new control board is very basic - so basic that it's fool proof. I have yet to find out if there is any features (test / settings features) on this board, still playing with different button options to see if there are hidden features.

Did you come across the revised owners manual? If not I have a pdf I can send you. I know alot of this years 5660l s came with last years manual.

Im an hvac guy so having an abundance of air on my appliances that make heat stems back from the nightmare oil fired systems that where under aired and oil soaked. Ive yet to have a hiccup yet but if I have to cut back the air some with diffrent pellets its no big deal

I have about the same results as CladMaster. Hey Clad, if you could send a pdf copy of the new manual to me, I would gladly appreciate it.

Yes, I have the new manual, it was sent via email to me from US Stoves.

You probably got it because you sent back registration card that came with stove. Hoping I have no problems with mine because I didn't send mine in. It said right on card it had to be sent back within 30 days of purchase. I bought mine during labor day sale at TSC, which started in august, right before labor day. I never unpackaged my stove till end of October, to install, so I didn't bother to send it in, I figured I was already late and they would not except it. So hopefully NO ISSUES arrive.

Law says you just need the receipt. No requirement to register a receipt for anything.

My flame results match Clad's exactly, no reason to re-type it here. I did yesterday post about performance in < 20 degree weather. I think it might be worth the read through if you have a 5660 as I do.

Thanks guys,I purchased mine December of 2013 at TSC for 719.00 and since then I replaced the room blower, control board and now this week a new burnpot is being sent because the other one warped right below where the chute is for the pellets to drop out
