I've posted on reddit and fb and talked about this before but didn't get too much of a response. I am still looking into the details of how I was able to aquire and use successfully, a NewMac Classic 1 wood stove, but it is stamped USSC, South Pittsburgh, TN. I will be trying to get ahold of someone on site at their headquarters to help identify my stove. Some parts seem different, handles, bottom grates, and some things just dont line up with the manual or the vast amounts of research I've done to track anyone with these stoves down to compare. If anyone has any info, if anyone is involved in the Jasper, TN crackdown in illegal stove sales, if someone has expertise in this area, I am all ears. Thank you to this community

I really dont understand what your question is here.

Sure. Newmac was acquired by USSC in 2015. I just bought this stove brand new. No date stamp on serial and other numbers and location. Newmac was manufactured in Debert, Canada. How do I have a brand new stove, from a bought out Canadian Stove manufacturer in 2026?

And I say that, again refrencing my post, things like the bottom grate, color of the steel cage, it seems off and not matching other material and promotional things showcasing this stove.

From a stove shop? Regardless ussc is absolutely shady so who knows

Could be old stock. Still doesnt line up though, would have had to of been after the acquisition of the assets, but still built and moved around the local area for 10 years? Brand new in crate?
Ok. We see crated unused stove company up for sale it isnt terribly uncommon

Interesting. The individual i bought it from has been selling this exact model off for at least 1-2 years. Pretty wild overstock and asset acquisition stockpile they must have. And someone is pushing product under the company then too

In that case they would probably qualify as a dealer and it is probably illegal.

Man it doesnt bother me because its illegal. Im saying that was already the unspoken fact here you just said it out loud. Its a mystery and im trying to put the pieces together
Some guy bought up a bunch of old circulators and is now selling them off. Its not much of mystery

Great. Thanks. Thats not how this individual worked but you got it. Now ill live with all these differences in my model and the one the company advertises and describes in the manual, and not ask questions or look for help. 🤙

What help do you need? We can offer help with specific questions. But have no idea where of why this guy has a bunch of random discontinued stoves without serial numbers. My guess is ussc sold them off after the 2020 cutoff illegally instead of destroying them as required

1. It does have a serial number. And stamped Tennessee.
2. The bottom left damper timer is permanently open and doesnt seem correct.
3. Never knew about the 2020 cutoff, that answers a lot there.

You are going to have to take it apart and see what is wrong
