Good man. There are many heroes, sung and unsung, but most often they don't get good press. They're often ignored until the obit is written.
 
It's a sad day.
 
When I was young, I remember being shown the tattoo of a concentration camp survivor, apparently from Auschwitz (I think ID tattoos were only done there). At that age, it was incomprehensible to me that such things could happen when the adults tried to explain it to me. That era should never, ever be forgotten and it's sad to see people like this gone.

That's too often true, but popularly recognized or not, thankfully, selfless work like this will continue to have positive consequences that outlive the person.
