We are thinking about putting up a maintenance free white plastic fence around our property. We have a free standing pellet stove that is directly vented outside. Any ideas on how close the fence can be to the vent? How hot is the air coming out of the vent and will it damage the fence in any way? Might be silly but I dont want it getting full of soot or melt. We probably have about 3 feet of room between where the vent is and where we need to secure the fence to the house. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Heat/melt will not be the problem at that length but the ash/soot maybe a issue. if it is a good plastic fence then it will clean up with some soap and water. I guess it all depends on how the wind blows. Maybe you could cover the part of the fencve bearest the stove vent
