Hey y’all,
I’m a newbie (quadrafire 4300 installed in October) and Google is failing me on this one.
My Acc timer is not ticking anymore when engaged. Also, the past couple of weeks, it seems like my fire is starved for air. I have rear air open completely, the damper open, and the door open. I can get it going, but even with the rear air and damper opened up all the way, my fire just smolders when I close the door and I know that’s not good bc of creosote. I can’t seem to get it roaring like it did at first.
This is our main heat in the house. I started checking Moisture of each piece that’s goes in and I don’t burn anything over 18%.
Any help Is appreciated. half my day is going to babysitting the stove and I’m really discouraged…

Did you find a remedy? I've got the same problem. No ticking. Trouble finding help with this on the internet.
It opens but does not slowly go back to the closed position. I do it manually, pushing from the back of the stove, but I worry if someone else is using the stove who thinks it will close automatically.

Hey,
No I never did find a solution a the Acc. The thing just broke after a month or so….I don’t use it. I’m sure it’s a really nice feature. If it works. 😏
The rest of my problem was not building fires big enough. It’s a big stove, so since I’ve realized that I was just trying to baby a little fire, it really just wanted more fuel.

I have the Explorer 3 . I have not had any issue with my acc. It gets dirty and I clean it but it always seems to work. Not sure if they changed anything with the 4300. Think I'm on year 7 or 8. I love the acc for a cold start .

I just took mine apart. Seems it does not last many years, according to the dealer I called. As yours is newer, did you check the Timer Arm (#22 on exploded drawings, page 40) and see if the small screw , where the arm attaches to the Timer itself, needs an allen wrench adjustment? Hopefully yours is still under warranty. I will have to order a new Timer Unit - 150.00$ Canadian. I will tie the lower controls together ( # 17 + 18) so they both manually close together after my 2nd timer fails.
