almost done splitting for a bit.....

I need to focus on getting a STOVE, and building a hearth now!! It will be cold before ya know it!
I am going to re-split a lot of this to try and get it drier, faster. If I add what is still in my driveway I probably have 6-7 cords cut and split ... still need a stack a lot of it!
Red oak, hackberry, and ash mostly.

As for the Stove? If your looking on a budget? Maybe try CL? Some decent deals out there? I got my 30-NC with double wall inside and 18' of Class A Triple wall outside for $800 from a member here. Best deal I have gotten. Bar none.

Here is my thread. Granted I am heating a larger space, but I think with good air flow, the 30 will work. The 13-NC may work, but I think you will push it a little harder. Drolet makes a nice stove too. Either will do a good job.

My dream is to remove my Pre fab fireplace and put the 30-NC upstairs. Still Dreaming!!

So I split wood for 3 hours!

Hi Donnie, split the ash small and cross stack it, just might get away with it for the this winter, that Oak is going to be 2 years down the line, not sure on Hackberry

If I end up installing a stove for THIS burn season, I am going to re-split ALL the wood I have now to just 3" sticks to TRY and speed up the drying!

Donnie, if I remember right you have a decent amount of ash. If so, why not give it a go for burning this coming winter? In your area you get more drying time and I'd bet that ash will work well for you.

Donnie I know what your going thru. It took me a solid six months to feel confident about what stove to go with I haven't done any serious burning with mine yet but I'm still very happy with my decision so far. My fiancé kept telling me to give each decision i made one month...if I still wanted the same one after that month then it was a go. Again... Took me six months to decide, lol. Lots of options out there but I'm sure you'll find what you are looking for

Sort of like us. We've been sort of shopping for a new car. It's been a bit over a year and a half so far and still not decided. Nice that we don't have to hurry on it too.
