I am almost done ladies and gents. Here are some pics. Hearthstone Shelburne.
I still have to place some Oak trim around my home made hearth pad. And I had
a stupid question.

I bought this 12in piece of doublewall pipe to make the connection too the
stove. Six inch. Ha----- but it wont fit in the stove. Wow I feel quite ignorant.
Seems pretty simple but....... Must be a certain connection pipe??? plus the
pipe can only go in the stove end one inch. Thats all the lip is. Dont seem like
enough too me. O.K. You all can let me have it.. It has been a long day....hehe

It is nice looking with a proportionately nice size glass.

Getting close! Looks like the setup is for single wall, not double-wall pipe. Making that double-wall connector work could be a bear. Can it be returned? One thing to check after installing, be sure that there is an uphill pitch toward the flue for the horiz. connector.

I will have 1.5 rise after it is said and done. Thanks for the heads up though.

That pc of dblwll it looks like selkirk.You are trying to put it on backwards.Look at the arrow on listing tag.You would also need a stove adpt. to put on stove first.You would also need to crimp the snout on the tee even if you use single wall.It looks like a nice setup.I wish I had tile around my hearthpad like that.
Almost forgot they make a trim ring to go around the crimp end of dblwll.

So Selkirk has the crimp up.... so.... that liquid creosote can leak out around the seam and down your pipe. Sounds like a plan... glad we don't use that pipe if thats the case.

Or is that just the outer wall of the double wall?

I am with you JTP. Been watching this thread and don't know why ya don't just install it the way you are holding it in the pic. Crimp end into the flue collar. That is if the snout on the tee will fit into the female end of the pipe section. Frankly for the life of me I can't figure out why you are messing with double wall for that small a section in the first place? Use a section of single wall stainless. Yes, crimped on both ends. And sealed with furnace cement. Ain't nothing gonna leak out.

I put the single wall in. Perfect. Got my 30 bones back from menard's for the double.
Oh,, that double would not go on . And I did have it the right way. Just would not fit.

I have $50.00 that says you where not putting it on the right way.It still is a dblwll pipe meaning it has a ss liner in there that goes to the inside of the other ss pc. It will not leak creosote. the outside makes it look like you are putting it on backwards.You would have needed a stove top adpt on your flue collar.The arrow on the listing tag does not lie. But when all is said you did the right thing putting single wall in.
