Hmmmm may be able to survive on just the used chopsticks and tooth pics this winter.

Which reminds me of a lollypop joke I just read:
What time do you go to the dentist?
Answer: Tooth hurty! (2:30) :)

Time to return to the pitching wedge and rest the splitting wedge. Happy New Year to all.

I sucks here RAIN

rained pretty steady here through about 10am local, sun is out now, and its tee shirt weather yet again, supposed to be warm like this through next weekend, ( debating mowing the lawn if this keeps up

I think that's what was left over from here last night heading N - it pi$$ed down. I could have kayaked down the side of my road!

It got up to 55 here yesterday. We have burnt very little wood. Its kinda nice, but with the rain I am not able to get to some tops I need to cut up. I have a full supply of firewood for years, but can't get to it. I kinda wish the ground would freeze. The weather is crazy this year.

Sure isn't the typical winter here in WI. Rain and fog yesterday, today is warm, sunny and windy. At least today's weather should help dry the woodpile from the rain the last couple of days.

I may have to take the blower off the tractor and put the mower deck back on.

THE BIG QUESTION - does this mean the rest of winter will likely be warm (scientifically)?

I say it does....that is my seat-of-the-pants theory based on just the little I know - that if the Earth does not cool down by the Solstice, it is less likely that it will do so afterwards.

Or is this a tale?

I've got the furnace turned off, fireplace cold, couple of windows open. With south-facing windows and a house full of guests, living room temps are 74. Might have to open the screen door. Got snowshoes for Christmas. Hope it's not next winter before I get to use them.

Oh, I'm pretty sure we'll get some good snow in a little bit. It's 2:30 here now, and sticking at 32 degrees. Getting some rain/sleet, and the driveway is a sheet of ice, and so is the dirt road I live on (they always freeze up real nice compared to paved roads). Staying inside today and keeping the stove going.

Happy New Year, Everyone!

HI, Ice

I'm in Ashfield, which is abot 25 miles NW of Northampton - just kind of at the foothills of the Berkshires. Not to many people usually recognize the town when they go through, or even know where it is. It's bordered by Goshen, Plainfield, Cummington and Buckland if that gives you an idea as to its location.

Rain/sleet finally stopped a little bit ago - driveway is still all ice - good thing I had the ash bucket filled up to get some traction.

LOL, Webwidow (Happy Birthday by the way). From some of the pics that Craig put up - I think I grew up not too far from your area in Easthamptom (Pomeroy Meadow Road)

hey there Harley, thanks, yup PMR right around the corner.
I am really a Philly/Jersey girl. Maybe you tell by my Jersey edge that creeps out once in a while. Been up here 2 1/2 years now, guess that makes me a local

I suspect that late January and early February will get ugly. perhaps I'm just pessimistic.

Not too sure about that... been in Ashfield for about 13 years, and I'm still thought of as a newbie... unless you have about 15 generations of living in the same house that your Great, Great, G,G,G Grandfather built (after doing the finishing touches up on the Mayflower)

Heres something to read. Interesting.
