Ok, I'm going to install a stainless steel oval liner in my chimney. The liners deminsions are 5" x 8.15" in a 7" x 11" flue with two offsets.
The flue is oriented with the major side, 11" facing north south and the minor side is east west. The thimble hole is on the south side of the flue so the 7" opening at the thimble opening.
Hope that made sense. Ok, all liner tees have the snout opening on the major side (11") side but with my flue orientation that won't work.
So my thought was to get a round tee for 6.5" (original size of liner before it was ovalized) and the once the liner was pulled down, shape the liner at the thimble back to 6.5".
The liner is a 316ti at .006. The tee won't go down with the liner because of offsets and 6.5" diameter.
Can I reshape the liner back to the 6.5"? It would only be for a inches to get it in the round tee.
Thanks
