Looks like a weeping Cherry of some sorts. Or Pin Cherry. I have two in my yard that look just like that. I thought it was an ornamental birch tree of some sorts until it produced cherries.

No berries that I know of. It is in the yard of a house that is getting tore down. Over the river in Moorhead MN, there is a whole long run of these on the blvd also.

I guess I'll have to look at mine again. I know the bark in those pictures, and even the tree structure, looks very much like my mountain ash. Even right down to all those bug/bird holes!

LOL- ya! Mountain ash leaflets are opposite, longer and toothier looking. The tree above doesn't have compound leaves.

Looks like a type of cherry (no berries) that grows near the canal behind my house. Am currently drying some that my neighbor cut down last year. I hope it burns well. For free, it should.

it looks more like cherry to me than birch.

look closely at the very bottom of the leaves right at the stem and see if there are some little tiny bumps - if its a cherry, the leaves should have little glands. should be a pair of glads at the base of each leaf blade.

Sour cherry. Anybody know if they burn well? I have a ton of these around and have some split and seasoning. It doesn't split too bad but the bark is tough to get through--tougher than the wood.

Yeah, that is a cherry. It looks like one of the many varieties of edible cherry, especially since it appears to have been planted in the yard.

My neighbor has given me a couple ornamental cherries like that. Seemed to be a bit denser than standard cherry, and way harder to split.

It is a cherry Genus- Burns Likecrappess. No heat, smokes like a mother, and would stink the whole house up.
