This dead tree was my neighbor's - came down in my yard in last week's storm.

Pignut Hickory, looks like it has been dead for a while,great find!
 
I didn't do much - it found me!
I got most of it split today after it stopped raining.
It split very well except for the knotty parts.
It's going into my 2010 supply.

Thanks for the identification.
 
Yeah that pignuts been dead a good amount of time.
