It will feed pellets but not start the igniter? Am I understanding that correctly?
Anyone else switch over to auto yet?

I never use ROOM temp auto. To much wear and tear on the ignitor. I always run in STOVE temp auto so stove will never shut off just run real low. If it gets pretty warm I just shut the stove off for a couple of hours. I just don't like that ignitor coming on all the time.
If you ran in room manual, you won't waste pellets by overhearing the room and you won't need to turn off and then restart the stove (less ignitor use). During the dead of winter I turn my stove on after cleaning and it doesn't get turned off until the next cleaning.
I have been switching from hi/lo to auto/off all season during the day. I seem to get enough solar to do this. Normally I can't make the switch to hi/lo at night until the temps get above mid 30's. It looks like we're getting pretty close as it may be next week and I should be able to get a few samples in once I do switch to auto/off full time.
Similar to Jay, if day time temps get close to 40 and a little sun I will run in on/off mode even through the night.

Just to be sure you understand,
In room manual, the stove will never shut down, just go to a maintenance burn until heat is called for. In room auto, the stove will shut down when there's no call for heat.
I don't like room temp manual because when the room gets to temp the fire dies way down (not off) and the fan slows down.The room starts cooling off before the flame and fan starts coming up again. In stove temp auto the fan always keeps running at the speed you set it at and the fire stays where you set it at. Even temperature with no ups and downs.
That's how mine has ways run though. In room temp auto it rarely shuts off unless its real warm out and 33* ain't warm enough for that! It will go low maybe and then start up again.
I am going on 5 years with my igniter. If you clean regularly it helps extend the life. At least that's what the Harman tech told me.
Think it depends on the stove and what pellets are being used. Mines approx 1.5 lbs per hour.
Went to auto today. First time we have been at or above freezing since Christmas. Another storm coming tonight though.
My stove will use about 35 lbs a day in maintenance but I have the boiler loop that pulls out heat and does a good job of keeping slab temp steady.

I have been burning all day today, but the past few days only burning at night. It has really warmed up!
Can you blow a little heat my way? I don't feel like humping more pellets into the basement. It was -4 this morning and only 19 for a high. We are supposed to be 18 and 35 for a high. New snow this weekend too.
So do some of us including myself. But there is a difference between auto(on/off) and manual(hi/low).
Been able to shut down completely during daylight time since Saturday. 4 Days in a row ! NICE ! !
