Time for some pointless bantering!

What are you burning for this cold spell? Sticking with shoulders, or breaking out the good stuff?

I just cleaned the stove and pulled out a few bags of Vermonts. I can't take the suspense any longer!!

I was using cheat river, just dumped my first bag of hamer's in for the year, it should kick in around 2am when the rest of the cheat river is out of my hopper.

It's going down to 20 tonight 30 tomorrow and 15 Sunday night, not a time for shoulder pellets

Ha, temperature just dropped 10 degrees in the past hour or so! I just finished scooping out the TSC pellets and poured in Barefoots. High of 20 tomorrow, need the good stuff

Some Southern Indiana Hardwoods I found at Lowes.....Heats good but ashy....very ashy

Vermont's will be going in next

Lowes seems to be offering all sorts of different brands this year. HD not so much.

Yep never been to a home depot around here that carried anything but stove chow. Lowes carries about 4 different brands but the brands change all the time.

Orford softwood. Still have about 2.5 tons to go, then SP's til spring.

Now its Dry Creek Premium. May try Greene Supreme tomorrow.. Getting Turmans next week..

Cubex saving the okies for the real winter.

barefoot. been burning the good stuff since late Oct.

Will stick with my Northeast for the time being. I will bump up the feed rate a notch or two (on 2 now) and switch to my Genevas when it gets real cold.......and by that I mean single digits

LaCretes for me. I went to TSC in Sanford, Me and they had North American pellets. Anyone burn those? I was looking for some MWP to try out.

Just picked up 2 tons of Somersets. Threw a bag in 6 hours ago. HOT :)

My HD has had Infernals exclusively for the past two years. Lowes, on the other hand, has had a veritable plethora of pellet choices. This year, while waiting for my VTs to be delivered, I tried Hearthside (broken image removed), Maines Choice (broken image removed)(broken image removed)and Natures Own (broken image removed). But when the Somersets showed up unexpectedly, well, bye bye VTs, hello Sets. After 5 bags, they rock! (broken image removed). True test will be tomorrow, but I have no doubt they'll be up to the task.

Wood Pellet Co. now it isn't that bad yet saving the Hamers for winter.

MWP ... 3 quarts of a tonne gone out of 3 tonne. (These are my shoulder pellets)

Using the Nature's Own tonight / tomorrow to see how they hold up, got 3 tonne of these too. (These are for when it gets cold)

Might get a few bags of the better stuff as and when needed for the really cold weather, but I am looking for a mild winter (here's hoping eh !)

23 bags into the Turmans....,Hammers, Pennwoods & more Turmans for the real winter months. 20* outside 77* inside w/Turmans. Burning 2/2 with the PAH......loving it

How are the pennwoods? The plant is 10 miles from me. The only dealer I can find is in strinestown and they want more for them than what I can get hamer's for.

They are awesome! I burnt them years ago and loved them. I had a hard time finding them until this year. Got mine @ Gettysburg Hearth & Solar for 230/ton, a month ago. Did a test burn & they still rock. Real hot and clean. They are located on Rt 30 down the road from Battlefield Harley. You can also buy direct from the Pennwood plant, if ya call them. Not sure of current price. I do like them better than Hammers... Or any pellet I've ever burned.
