Are telephone poles OK to burn?

They make great bridges - to bad they are all cut up(as mentioned by BWS)

I have two I placed across the creek/ditch out back allowing me access to more and better fire wood. If the world is ending I think all bets are off if you need the heat but beyond that I wouldn't burn them.
