Are there really bad pellets out there?

I just seem to buy the same brand from the local feed store. They only sell AWP, they are not as good this year, and I had an open pallet of Hamers that has been here for 7 or so years and I just wanted to finish them off for the space. I noticed a big difference in heat and ash, they are my favorite pellet, but I can't find anyone to deliver them any more. The AWP are not cheap in the end, 300 a ton plus 45 per for delivery. They back up o he garage door and I have plastic pallets and they unload and stack. I would love to see bulk delivery, blown in to a bin or something like that around me but that seems doubtful.
In the time I have been burning of all the different brands the only ones that I was no sure about were tractor supply pellets in a blue labeled bag, they left clinkers in the pot.

The old lady went to Waldo's world where they carry the Pennington brand pellets and she bought a bag. Yes you probably can't really judge by burning one bag and they are expensive but they probably burned the best of the ones I've tried so far

I haven't seen those in years. IIRC, when they were fairly common, they were unimpressive and didn't perform as well as the rest of the middle of the road pellets out at the time (FSU, Stove chows, GS, NEWPs etc)
