I have the manual for the 1890 and it isn't like this stove. This one has an ash box that doesn't open and an air intake lever at the bottom that goes left and right.Inside the bottom has holes to let the ash fall but gets covered with ash. The door flops open and can only be fully open or fully closed without being propped by a stick.

I don't know which way to push the lever to supposedly open the air flow from the bottom.

Thanks for any help you can give me. I'm in a rental and the owner was no help.
