1992 Austroflamm problems again. Convection fan not running. I jumped the convection fan with a lamp cord, it fried the motor. Sizzle & puff of smoke. So bought a new Convection fan and installed it. Still convection fan does not turn.

Stove shuts down after start up. Pellets stop dropping so it goes out. Then after it cools down pellet will drop again and overflow because the fire has extinguished.

I jumped the high limit switch and stove keeps burning after start up but convection fan never comes on.

Next I jumped the low limit switch and the stove stopped burning after start up again.

I’m afraid to lamp cord test the new fan since the previous one that was only 1 year old fried when I did that and at $300 per fan that hurts.

Last year I got a new convection fan and then a rebuilt wiring harness from Joe in California. I wonder if the wiring harness could be at fault? Seems odd that a brand new convection fan and joes rebuilt wiring harness would only last one year. The original fan and wiring harness it had in it when I bought it used, both lasted at least 10 years for me.

What are your suggestions to do now? Needing to get heat back in house,

Thanks in advance for any help.

If the convection fan was good, using a lamp cord should not fry it. If you use lamp cord on a 15A breaker you will certainly catch a motor on fire if it is bad. I suggest to all that test cords be fused. If the motor draws 2 amps, then the fuse should be 2 amps.
The fan will only work once the stove is up to a certain temp.
It sounds like a vacuum issue, possibly blockage or leaks.
re the wiring harness - when is the last time the stove worked properly, and what was changed or fixed after that?
What cleaning and inspections have you done?

The last time that I know of that the stove worked properly was at least last Spring. I go South in Winter. My daughter lives here and uses the stove. She said it all seemed normal last use but I'm not sure she really knows.
When I started it up a week ago after cleaning with leaf Blower trick and vacuuming, I thought it was going to run as normal, but it would go out after the start up procedure. I did some testing and have replaced the convection Fan, I jumped the low limit disk and still goes out after start up and the convection fan never turns on. Even with the low limit switch jumped. I did test the new convection fan and it will run with a test lamp cord. So I guess my next step is to replace the low limit switch and cross my fingers.

Watch this video and double check the cleaning. The leaf blower trick is OK to do AFTER normal cleaning is done.. I don't have a wiring diagram ect. If you have one please post it. I would jumper the pressure switch for a test run. The pressure switch is probably good,as they rarely fail, but it can tell you the problem is improper airflow.
